This calendar grrrl submission came in many weeks ago . . . and I'm only now getting it up! So, without further ado:
Of course, the info snippet I received with it is at my office . . . EVEN THO I thought I copied the e-mail onto my thumb drive. (Sigh.)
But, ladies, we NEED MORE SUBMISSIONS! I'll start playing with what images I have so far, but we're gonna need MORE if we're gonna do this for a 2012 calendar! Otherwise, we're gonna have to wait and do a 2013. Just sayin' . . . !
A 2012 Calendar Dedicated To and Portraying Women Homesteaders. All proceeds will be donated.

Latest Entry
My apologies to this beautiful woman for not getting this posted sooner! Here is the latest (fantastic, if you ask me!) submission for Calendar Grrls 2012!
This is Mrs. Tanglewoods Homestead! |
Now, ladies, we need to kick this into high gear! It's gonna be September in just two days!!! Ms. Apple Pie, how about some submissions from you? Mom, do you have a full-size copy of that image of you "passed out" in the garden from a few years ago? I think that would be a terrific photo to use!
We've got a few summertime shots now, but we need to focus on Winter (snowy) and Fall images. But, I'll take anything you send me!
C'mon, we can DO this!

New Submission!

She says, "I was using a circa-1900 rotary seed-spreader to lay down a crop of 'conservation mix' on our logging trails in order to prevent erosion. I sowed all of our pastures the same way."

2012 Calendar Grrrls is ON!
Following a post on Mama Pea's blog, MaineCelt made the following comment, " I think we should do an inspirational calendar of homesteading women with the tools of our trade: chainsaw, manure fork, scythe, etc."
Oh. My. Gawd. That's IT! MaineCelt, we're DOING IT!!!
Offers (of yourself!) would be appreciated, but I'll also take nominations of what woman homesteader you'd like to see represented! Mama Pea and I will select our 13 favorite - one for the cover and one for each of (obviously) the months.
All proceeds will go to a donation we've all agreed upon. I'll take suggestions for that, too! God forbid any of us experience a catastrophe between now and then, but if one of you does - the funds raised go there. Period.
Come December, I think it would be terrific, too, if each of us tried our best to promote it: local newspapers, etc. The more funds raised, the better we can support the recipient of our choice.
Oh, it's ON! And I WILL hound you to take some terrific pictures and submit them! Don't think I won't!
Send any and all submissions, photos, comments, suggestions here.
To start things off, here are some of my favorites I've already swiped from the archives of Rowangarth Farm and Garden Now - Think Later!

We'll need to think of a name for our Homesteading Grrrls calendar, too. Put your thinking caps on! "Homesteading Calendar Grrrls"? Not terribly original BUT descriptive! :)
